nPosition Summary
nAccurate Paper Box is a rapidly growing folding carton manufacturer based in Knoxville, Tennessee. We are scaling aggressively and building the operational and financial systems necessary to support long term growth.
nThis is not a traditional accounting role. While maintaining accurate books and financial discipline is essential, we are looking for someone who will actively improve how the business operates through analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
nThis role requires someone who not only analyzes financial and operational data, but also takes ownership of implementing improvements, fixing broken processes, and ensuring those changes are consistently followed across the organization.
nBecause we are a lean and rapidly growing organization, this role requires someone who is comfortable operating both strategically and tactically. At times you will be building financial reporting and improving operational processes, and at other times you may be processing transactions, reconciling accounts, or assisting with payroll. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of outcomes rather than focusing only on job boundaries.
nThe person in this role will serve as both a Senior Accountant and an Operational Finance Analyst, responsible for maintaining the accounting foundation while helping leadership build financial visibility, improve operational discipline, and support the company’s growth.
nCore Responsibilities
nAccounting Ownership
nMaintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online and internal ERP systems
nManage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
nAssist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations
nPerform monthly close including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
nMaintain audit-ready documentation and strong internal financial controls
nEnsure accuracy and integrity of general ledger activity
nFinancial Analysis & Business Visibility
nBuild financial and operational reporting to support leadership decision-making
nDevelop dashboards and KPI reporting related to margins, job performance, and operational efficiency
nPerform variance analysis and identify profitability drivers
nAnalyze trends across financial and operational data to support business decisions
nOperational Finance & Process Improvement
nIdentify breakdowns in financial workflows, ERP processes, or data integrity and implement improvements
nStrengthen ERP discipline and ensure accurate system data across departments
nWork with operations, purchasing, and sales to improve margin visibility and cost control
nDevelop systems and reporting that prevent recurring financial or operational issues
nCross-Functional Contribution
nWork directly with company leadership to support strategic growth
nHelp design reporting structures and financial visibility as the company scales
nMaintain strong attention to detail in customer setups, item specifications, and system data that impact production accuracy
nRequired Skills & Experience
nStrong experience with QuickBooks Online
nSolid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
nExperience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
nStrong Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial analysis
nExperience working with ERP systems
nHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills
nStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
nAbility to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with multiple departments
nPreferred Experience
nManufacturing or inventory-based business experience
nExperience with cost analysis, margin analysis, or operational finance
nExperience improving financial processes or ERP workflows
nExperience building dashboards or KPI reporting
nExperience integrating ERP systems and financial reporting tools
nWho Will Thrive in This Role
nAccurate Paper Box operates with an ownership mindset. Every member of our team is expected to contribute beyond the minimum requirements of their role.
nWe are looking for someone who:
nTakes initiative and solves problems without waiting to be asked
nHolds themselves and others accountable to processes and standards
nThrives in a fast-moving and evolving environment
nIs comfortable identifying problems and implementing solutions
nUses data to drive decisions and improve business performance
nThose who take massive, intentional, deliberate action, all the time!
