Job description
A client of ours in Palm Beach County is looking for a Senior Accountant to complete a 3 month assignment with their team. The right candidate will have 5+ years of GL accounting experience along with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. An accounting professional coming from the manufacturing industry would be preferred. Must be able to commute to the office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities
Prepare and post monthly journal entries for assigned business units and cost centers.
Analyze costs, spending trends, and expense variances, identifying unusual fluctuations and providing actionable insights to management.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Partner closely with operations and cross-functional teams to communicate the financial impact of business activities and support decision-making.
Assist with the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts for assigned areas, maintaining related financial data within the ERP system.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and record maintenance.
Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors during interim and year-end audit engagements.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, while providing guidance to operational teams.
Assist with the documentation and enhancement of financial policies, procedures, and internal control processes, including SOX compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience with fixed asset accounting and cost analysis.
Proficiency with SAP or other Tier 1 ERP systems, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling capabilities.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and organizational skills.
Ability to build effective relationships across departments and communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders. xhqgsiq
