nPosition Summary:
nReports to the Payroll Manager and is responsible for performing a broad range of accounting and analytical functions that support payroll operations and financial reporting. This position prepares payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations, supports month-end close activities, maintains payroll documentation, and assists with payroll inquiries from employees and internal departments. This position also helps to ensure the accuracy and integrity of payroll-related financial information, supports audit and compliance requirements, and contributes to continuous process improvement while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
nEssential Functions:
nnnPrepare month-end journal entries related to payroll activities.
n
nnOversee and assist with monthly payroll-related account reconciliations, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
n
nnReconcile and monitor outstanding payroll checks.
n
nnProvide account coding for accounts payable invoices and assist the Accounts Payable team as needed.
n
nnMaintain payroll procedures and process documentation.
n
nnSupport the Finance and Shared Services teams by responding to employee payroll-related inquiries.
n
nnAssist with internal and external audit requests as needed.
n
nnIdentify opportunities to improve payroll related processes, controls, and efficiencies.
n
nnMaintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding all payroll-related matters.
n
nnContribute to the company Culture of Caring by maintaining positive and respectful relationships with employees, customers, vendors, program recipients, and our community.
n
n nIt is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within their capabilities as determined by management.
nEducation and Experience Requirements:
nnnBachelor's degree in accounting.
n
nnThree years of accounting experience required.
n
nnRelevant experience may be substituted for education at management's discretion.
n
nnKnowledge of payroll processes and payroll accounting preferred.
n
nnExperience with Oracle Fusion preferred.
n
nnStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
n
nnExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
n
nnAbility and willingness to learn new processes, technologies, and information systems. Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
n
nnUnless waived by management, a valid driver's license in the state of employment and an acceptable driving record are required.
