Job Overview – Senior Accountant
Compensation: $80,000–$90,000/year
Location: Mercer County, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant in Mercer County, NJ for our client. This role will support general accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. The Senior Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities, and collaborate with internal teams to support financial accuracy and efficient accounting processes.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
General Accounting: Manage general ledger activities, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Support invoicing, payment processing, collections, and other accounting transactions.
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, support month-end and year-end close processes, and maintain financial reporting accuracy.
Account Reconciliations: Review financial transactions, investigate discrepancies, and maintain supporting documentation.
Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, support audit preparation, and maintain internal financial controls.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting processes, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Experience: 5–8 years of general accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, or related accounting experience is required.
Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes is required.
Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software or ERP systems are required.
Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and ability to manage accounting responsibilities independently are required.
