Pacific Staffing is recruiting a Senior Accountant for a respected Sacramento-area organization known for its strong values, operational excellence, and commitment to accurate, timely financial reporting. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading core accounting functions, improving processes, and supporting a high-performing finance team. The Senior Accountant supports key financial operations, including general ledger management, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit support. This role requires strong analytical skills, independent judgment, and the ability to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all accounting activities.
Salary: $100K to $120K per year (DOE)
Fully remote. Preferably be located in Northern California.
Key Responsibilities Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations.
Maintain and analyze the general ledger; investigate variances and ensure accurate, compliant account classification.
Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports with a high degree of accuracy.
Support audits, compliance requirements, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and strengthen financial workflows and controls.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger expertise.
Advanced understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
CPA required.
