Job description
Are you a skilled accountant that wants to find a way to support animals? Becoming our Senior Accountant will give you the opportunity to use your accounting knowledge to help a worthy cause!
What you'll do:
Create and post biweekly payroll journal and analyze all payroll related accounts
Maintain fixed asset system and posting of monthly depreciation expense
Coordinate all credit card processing and terminals at 3 locations
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
Supervise two people
Review and analyze balance sheet accounts, making adjustments and corrections as necessary, including reconciliation of subsidiary systems to the general ledger: Fixed assets to GL
Raiser's Edge to GL
Construction in process
Capital budget to GL
Utilizes and update the electronic accounting filing system (Docuware)
Maintain the Accounting Procedures manual, coordinating updates as needed
Document and review internal controls in coordination with CFO on an ongoing basis
Assist in various analyses and projects, including budget preparation
Assist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules
Serve as a back-up for payroll processing
Support gift shop operations and inventory
Be a part of the 150+ legacy of the Humane Society of Missouri
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least three years general accounting experience
Some supervisory or lead experience required
Experience with Microsoft-Business Central is desired
Organized
Great communicator and relationship builder
