Senior Accounts Receivable SpecialistMARS Builder Solutions partners with residential homebuilders to deliver high-quality roofing and solar solutions throughout new construction communities. We are committed to exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and building long-term relationships with our builder partners.As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our roofing operations and play a key role in managing the full order-to-cash cycle.This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of billing, collections, and customer account management while working closely with operations, project managers, and leadership. If you have experience in construction, roofing, or a project-based environment and thrive in a fast-paced setting, we'd love to hear from you.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCustomer Billing & Invoice ManagementGenerate and issue customer invoices through NetSuite based on completed work, contract milestones, schedules of values, and approved change ordersPrepare progress billings and AIA-style pay applicationsTrack retention balances and retention releasesValidate billing against contract requirements and customer agreementsSubmit invoices through customer and general contractor billing portalsEnsure all required supporting documentation is attached, including lien waivers, compliance documents, photos, sign-offs, and certified payroll recordsMonitor unbilled work and change orders to ensure timely revenue captureCash Application & ReconciliationsApply ACH, wire, and check payments accurately and timely within NetSuiteResearch and resolve short pays, overpayments, unapplied cash, and billing discrepanciesProcess credit memos, write-offs, and billing adjustments in accordance with company policiesReconcile Accounts Receivable activity to the General Ledger and bank depositsSupport month-end close activities and reporting requirementsCollections & Customer Account ManagementManage aging and collections for assigned homebuilder, general contractor, and retail customer accountsConduct proactive collection calls and email follow-upPartner with project managers and operations teams to resolve payment disputesEscalate delinquent accounts and collection risks to leadershipPrepare and monitor California preliminary notices, lien waivers, and related documentationCoordinate mechanic's lien and bond claim filings within required deadlinesMaintain thorough collection notes and account records within NetSuiteReporting & Process ImprovementParticipate in Accounts Receivable review meetings with Finance and OperationsMaintain accurate customer master records and billing informationHelp improve invoicing, collections, and cash application processesAssist with documenting and maintaining Accounts Receivable proceduresRequired Qualifications5+ years of Accounts Receivable experienceStrong experience with invoicing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliationsDemonstrated success managing a high-volume aging portfolioAdvanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and account analysisStrong understanding of Accounts Receivable Accounting Principles and General Ledger impactExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to prioritize competing deadlines and work effectively during month-end closePreferred QualificationsExperience in roofing, solar, construction, homebuilding, or other project-based industriesNetSuite ERP experienceKnowledge of schedules of values, retention, WIP reporting, and change order billingFamiliarity with AIA billing and construction payment platforms such as Procore, Textura, FullClarity, or GCPayKnowledge of California preliminary notices, lien waivers, mechanic's liens, and bond claimsExperience supporting multi-entity organizationsAssociate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related fieldBilingual English/Spanish preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.Occasional travel to builder offices, jobsites, or company locations as needed.Ability to occasionally lift and carry office materials weighing up to 20 pounds.Work EnvironmentThis is an on-site position located in our Escondido, California office. The role is primarily office-based and requires extended periods of computer work.
