nThe team you will be a part of
nThe Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
nThis role in summary
nWhirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Shift Lead. The role will be based at our Perrysburg, OH plant. As a shift lead, you will be responsible for leading the entire third shift operation of a world class plastic injection molding plant on its journey to becoming the benchmark for Whirlpool in automation. In this challenging role, you will be called upon as both a technical leader to drive continuous improvements to safety, quality, delivery, and cost of the process as well as leading your team in meeting daily production objectives.
nYour responsibilities will include
nnnLead all team members on the shift in the attainment of production goals (SQDCE)
n
nnServe as the key communication link with the other shifts to facilitate a smooth transition of data and clear communication of problems/issues.
n
nnAssure proper utilization of facilities, tools, equipment, materials and manpower to effectively meet safety, quality and production requirements.
n
nnMust possess a strong working knowledge of plant manufacturing operations, processes and production flow.
n
nnWork effectively with your peers to share knowledge and leverage strengths
n
nnLead problem solving for equipment issues
n
nnFacilitate projects and teach / mentor / train shop floor teams
n
nnDevelop technicians in advanced problem-solving and skill training
n
nnUtilize excellent communication and documentation skills to transfer critical processes and support knowledge to others
n
nnMaintain good employee relations and communications.
n
nnAssure that all plant policies and procedures are enforced as well as administered fairly and consistently.
n
nnProvide input for personnel ratings as required.
n
nnWork cross-functionally to drive solutions.
n
nnLead process implementation, process optimization, and root cause analysis
n
nnLead capital projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
n
nnEnsure equipment is in World Class condition
n
nnProvide project management of new and existing equipment / tooling.
n
nnSupport building and operating a highly automated facility
n
nnKnowledge of Kronos, SAP, Google applications, etc.
n
nnUnderstanding of WCM (World Class Manufacturing)
n
nnAbility to lead the team on a third shift swing shift schedule
n
n nMinimum requirements
nnnBachelor's Degree Engineering or Engineering Technology
n
nn5+ years manufacturing experience
n
n nPreferred skills and experiences
nnnBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
n
nnProven success in a fast-paced environment
n
nnProven success in the personal development of employees
n
nnExperience with Injection Molding, light assembly processes, decoration technologies, AGV's/AMR
n
nnExperience with Fanuc 6 axis robots.
n
nnExperience setting up new processes and optimizing existing processes.
n
nnExperience leading teams
n
nnExperience in World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Safety (SAF), Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Professional Maintenance (PM)
n
nnExperience using CAD software such as Creo, Solidworks, AutoCAD
n
nnWCM (World Class Manufacturing) experience
n
nnOrganizational, verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
n
nnTime management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
