nSenior Art Director / Designer, Flow Studio @ Autodesk
nWe are building an integrated marketing and creative team designed for how modern products grow—combining high standards, thoughtful experimentation, and a strong focus on impact. We work as One Autodesk, partnering across functions to create clear, engaging experiences that help customers understand and adopt what is next. If you are energized by creative technology, collaborative problem-solving, and the opportunity to shape how a product shows up in the world, we would love to hear from you.
nAutodesk builds the tools behind the world around us. From the buildings we live in to the products we use, our customers design and make what’s next, and we power that work.
nAs we evolve into a Design and Make platform, we are creating more connected, intelligent experiences that help our customers move from idea to reality. That transformation is grounded in our One Orbit values: being Optimistic about what is possible, Relentless in pursuit of better outcomes, Brave enough to challenge convention, Ingenious in solving complex problems, Trusted in how we show up, and united as One Autodesk.
nWithin Autodesk, Flow Studio is building a new category at the intersection of AI, creativity, and storytelling. This is an opportunity to shape how that vision comes to life through world-class design.
nPosition Overview
nFlow Studio is a visual product and brand, and how it shows up matters. We need a Senior Art Director / Designer who can define and execute a modern, distinctive visual language across everything we create.
nThis role is both conceptual and hands-on. You will design and art direct every touchpoint a customer has with Flow Studio, from first impression through ongoing engagement, ensuring a cohesive and compelling experience. Success in this role requires creative range, technical fluency, and a values-led mindset: optimism to imagine what’s next, ingenuity to translate complex VFX and simulation workflows into clear storytelling, courage to push the work into new territory, relentless focus on quality, and a collaborative approach that builds trust across teams.
nResponsibilities
nnnDesign and art direct every touchpoint across the Flow Studio experience, from campaigns and social to product storytelling and digital experiences
n
nnLead art direction and design across campaigns, product marketing, and social content with a high bar for craft and clarity
n
nnDevelop and evolve a distinct visual system for Flow Studio that feels modern, scalable, and differentiated
n
nnCreate social-first content across formats and platforms, tailoring the work to how audiences engage
n
nnTranslate product capabilities, including VFX and simulation workflows, into clear and visually compelling creative outputs that build understanding and trust
n
nnCreate assets across a range of outputs, including motion, static, and digital experiences
n
nnPartner closely with creative, marketing, and product teams to bring ideas to life, ensuring the work is grounded in real use cases and communicates meaningful value
n
nnCollaborate with Technical Artists and VFX specialists to ensure outputs are both visually strong and technically credible
n
nnArt direct content built from real product output, not abstract or purely conceptual visuals
n
nnBuild scalable design systems and templates that increase speed, consistency, and impact
n
nnExperiment with AI-native tools and workflows to enhance creative output and team efficiency
n
nnMaintain a high bar for craft while operating with urgency in a fast-moving environment
n
nnContinuously push the work to feel modern, relevant, and differentiated within the VFX and creative tools space
n
nnA rich and consistent body of work defines how Flow Studio shows up visually and stands out within the VFX and AI tools landscape
n
nnThe design feels modern, distinctive, and immediately recognizable, with a strong point of view
n
nnThe work is both visually compelling and credible to a technically informed audience, and it performs on social because it is built for the platform, not adapted to it
n
nnProduct storytelling is clear, confident, and grounded in real customer value rather than abstraction
n
nnSystems and templates enable speed and consistency without compromising quality
n
nnThe work consistently raises the bar, reflects strong creative judgment, and builds trust across teams
n
n nMinimum Qualifications
nnn8+ years of experience as an Art Director or Designer, ideally in software, SaaS, or SMB environments
n
nnA strong portfolio showcasing art direction and design across brand, digital, and social
n
nnUnderstanding of how VFX and simulation workflows translate into visual storytelling
n
nnAbility to both concept and execute at a high level, moving fluidly from idea to final output
n
nnExperience designing for social-first environments and content-driven brands
n
nnStrong understanding of typography, layout, motion, and visual systems, with experience using tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and motion design platforms
n
nnFamiliarity with working alongside Technical Artists or within 3D and VFX pipelines
n
nnCuriosity and openness to using AI in creative workflows, with a willingness to experiment and learn
n
nnAbility to work across multiple projects in a fast-moving environment while staying organized and focused
n
nnHigh creative standards, strong attention to detail, and sound design judgment
n
nnA collaborative mindset with a bias toward action and a commitment to building strong partnerships across One Autodesk
