Job description

Senior Assembly TechnicianWe are looking for a Senior Assembly Technician to join our Parts Super Center team in Indianapolis, IN! The Senior Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, electrical testing, troubleshooting and quality control of electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. Ensure assemblies meet specified quality standards and maintain quality documentation. Train and assist junior level Assembly Technicians.What You'll Do:Read, understand and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material and work instructionsInstall and wire electrical components (connectors, leads, harnesses, switches, sensors, PCB modules) into mechanical assemblies per schematics and/or wiring diagramsPerform required electrical testing and verification of assembled units using multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot (high-potential) testers, functional test fixtures, and other test equipmentUtilize various hand tools, measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins), testing tools (hipot tester, Multimeter) and other standard power hand tools to complete work tasksTest finished product according to schematics and/or wiring diagramAssemble product according to schematics and/or wiring diagramVerify items and quantities on the pick list shipping out per Work Orders. Pack finished product per instructionsVisually inspect parts on queued WO to ensure that parts meet Rexel quality standards and are in good conditionSupport ISO Certification, maintenance of documents, and audits. Participate in ISO yearly trainingReport all non-conforming material to NCMR Coordinator / Quality engineerWill lead one on one buddy training for Level I and Level II Assembly TechniciansAssist in inventory managementOther duties as assignedJob Duties Disclaimer: The information contained in this job description is intended to describe the essential job functions required of those assigned to this job. The ability to competently perform all the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, demonstrate commitment to effective customer service delivery, integrity, and the ability to work productively as a member of a team or work group are basic requirements of all positions at Rexel USA.What You'll Need5+ years of experience in Assembly, Quality Control, or Inventory ManagementPrior experience in mechanical assembly of electromechanical productsDemonstrated experience performing electrical testing on assemblies (use of multimeter, oscilloscope, and continuity testing)High School or GED - RequiredOther - PreferredTechnical school a plusKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to read work instructions, bills of material, wiring and mechanical diagramsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and simple schematicsBasic knowledge of electrical fundamentals (voltage, current, resistance, continuity, polarity, ground)Familiarity with test documentation and traceability requirementsStrong mechanical aptitude a mustStrong mathematical skillsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsBasic computer skills with strong attention to detail.
