Description

Burrow Global Automation is recruiting energetic individuals to join our growing team in Houston, TX (Deer Park office).

Burrow Global Automation is a vendor neutral Automation Systems Integrator who manages and supports all aspects automation projects from concept through to operation, focusing on the energy, specialty chemical and sustainable energy markets. Burrow Global Automation is looking for Control System Engineers with proficiency in DCS Batch Control for development and support of clients’ process control systems and operational technology. Development services pertain to the in-office engineering design, documentation, and configuration on E, EP & EPC, and Automation projects for upgrades, expansions and migrations. Support services will be onsite and vary from small changes related to maintenance; to projects such as upgrades, process optimizations, expansions and other related tasks.

Responsibilities

Lead and be accountable for design, development, and installation of control systems. Ability to program, troubleshoot, and support the configuration. Mentor and guide Automation engineers on projects.

Lead Automation efforts on capital projects, new installations, testing, and modernization projects for new systems. May contribute to multiple projects at once.

Demonstrate knowledge as a Batch Control SME.

Consult with clients on multiple control system hardware types, uses, and limitations. Guide clients through decisions around technology selections.

Participate in Business Development activities with key clients and target clients.

Conduct meetings with clients as a subject matter expert and represent Burrow Global in a professional manner.

Provide technical support, problem solving, maintenance, modifications, and continuous improvement for process control systems.

Position is 50-75% embedded support in the Deer Park, TX area

Key Skills

Comprehensive understanding of control systems documentation (e.g. P&ID’s, Cause and Effects, Control System Architecture, I/O Index, etc).

Expert-level knowledge of ISA-88 (S88) batch control standards and methodologies.

Hands-on proficiency in DeltaV Batch tools including Recipe Studio, Batch Executive, Campaign Manager, and Batch Operator Interface.

Extensive experience implementing batch Emerson DeltaV applications using sequential function charts, command/state-driven equipment logic, and phase logic.

Familiarity with integration between DCS platforms and Manufacturing Execution Systems like Syncade.

Understanding of Control System networks and connectivity

Experience with leading multiple project phases (e.g. FEL, Detailed Engineering and Commissioning/Start-Up)

Familiarity with relevant Automation industry standards and experience with application (e.g. NEC, NFPA 72, 85, 86, IEC61511, IEC 61508, API 14C, and UL508A)

System integration experience with PLCs and other third-party devices.

Understanding of batch chemical processes and applications preferred. Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, or other adjacent batch process industry experience acceptable.

Comfortable with both in office and plant environments.

Ability to deal with uncertainty and pressure.

Works well with others, within a team, and takes accountability.

Organized, with strong computer literacy skills such as MS Project, Excel, Visio, Power Point, etc.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Instrument, Computer Engineering or similar discipline (or equivalent technical experience)

10+ years of experience implementing Batch automation projects preferably in the Emerson DeltaV platform

15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, Chemicals or adjacent markets

Legally authorized to work in the United States, without sponsorship
