Are you an experienced Senior Automation Test Developer with a desire to excel? If so, then Talent Software Services may have the job for you! Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Developer to work in Rochester, MN.
Position Overview
This position provides software quality assurance services for projects and systems. It oversees the maturation of a work unit's development methodologies and confirms regulatory compliance as it applies to software support for the business areas served. The role involves defining and analyzing product validation for new and/or modified applications. The individual will investigate operational and process problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel. They will guide and direct lower-level personnel on the setup and performance of quality controls, devise and apply quality controls for in-house and vended products, and design advanced software automation frameworks and test scripts that function across system environments and interfaces. The Automation Developer must be capable of designing and implementing custom APIs between tools.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of software quality assurance practices and methodologies. They should possess knowledge of relational databases, tool APIs, and experience in building tool integrations. A broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures across fields of specialization such as software development, quality assurance, testing, auditing, configuration management, and regulatory affairs is required to complete difficult assignments. Strong analytical skills, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to interact with people of all levels are essential. The candidate must be self-directed and able to make decisions appropriate for the business and technical environment. An understanding of applicable systems, industry, and regulatory practices and procedures as they relate to product risk assessment is necessary. Experience in analyzing and advising on software development documentation techniques and in analyzing and advising for optimum usage of common software documentation, problem management, and version management tools as they apply to test execution and management is required. A demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycles as they relate to product verification and validation, as well as knowledge of quality assurance practices and efforts to implement suitable practices, are essential.

The role involves working with an off-shore team, but requires someone based in the U.S. to handle tasks that the off-shore team cannot, such as staging data, provisioning VDIs, and whitelisting IP addresses. This person will serve as a liaison to the off-shore testing team, helping resolve occasional issues and collaborating regarding testing strategy. They will be expected to participate in releases, which occur outside of business hours (estimated 5% allocation).
Required Skills
5 years of professional experience in developing Web and Mobile Test automation frameworks
Hands-on experience with automation tools like Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Maestro, or QTP/UFT
Ability to design, develop, and execute automated tests using languages such as Java, C#, Visual Basic, or Python
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing (Azure, Jenkins, GIT)
Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Copilot to assist with developing automation
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and data-driven automation framework
Experience with integrating AppliTools into automation frameworks
Ability to create reusable and low-maintenance test automation scripts
Implement automation best practices and work towards process improvements
