Job description
🧩 Senior Backend Developer
🌐 C# / .NET Core | Remote | Equity-Only | Flexible Hours | Path to Full-Time
About Luupli
Luupli is reimagining social media from the ground up, with creators, safety, and equity at the core. We’re building a platform where diverse communities thrive, creators earn fairly, and users come first. Currently in beta, our prototype has already sparked major industry buzz as the “next big thing.” Now, we’re assembling the founding tech team that will bring it to life.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to build and scale the backend engine powering Luupli. From high-performance APIs to cloud-based infrastructure, you'll play a key role in creating the platform’s most critical systems.
This is a part-time, equity-only role to start, ideal for someone excited by long-term upside, real ownership, and flexible hours. As we grow, this position will transition into a paid full-time opportunity for core contributors.
🔧 What You’ll Do
Design and build RESTful APIs using C# / .NET Core
Develop server-side architecture that is modular, testable, and scalable
Collaborate with frontend/mobile teams to align on API contracts and performance
Maintain and optimise database performance and cloud infrastructure
Write clean, efficient, and reusable code for high-concurrency environments
Participate in code reviews, DevOps practices, and system design sessions
Contribute to CI/CD, testing, and documentation processes
(Bonus) Support occasional full-stack features if needed
👨🏽💻 What You’ll Bring
4–6+ years experience in backend development, with strong C# / .NET Core skills
Solid experience building mobile or web application backends
Strong proficiency with relational and NoSQL/document databases
Familiarity with REST and GraphQL service design
Solid understanding of system architecture, APIs, and security principles
Experience with containerised environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Bonus: Experience with GCP or cloud-native platforms (AWS/Azure okay)
Bonus: Exposure to event-driven/microservice architectures
🌍 Why Join Luupli?
We're not just building tech, we’re rebuilding trust in social media. At Luupli, you’ll join a values-led startup where creators have power, users have rights, and engineers have ownership from day one.
If you’re tired of the same old stack and want to build with purpose, autonomy, and actual equity, we’d love to talk.
💸 Compensation
This is an equity-only role at the pre-seed stage. You will receive a meaningful, vested equity stake in Luupli in recognition of your contributions. There is no cash salary at this time.
We're flexible on hours, and committed to transitioning this into a paid full-time position once funding is secured. Equity contributors will be prioritised.
