Overview

Intrepid, an SPA Company, brings more than 20 years of experience supporting the Department of Defense and U.S. Government, consistently setting the standard for excellence in the federal marketplace. Committed to advancing the mission of the U.S. Warfighter, Intrepid leverages technological superiority to deliver innovative solutions across air, space, land, and sea domains. We are proud to foster a collaborative, dynamic work environment, offering competitive compensation and an industry-leading 401k contribution. Our team is built through merit and achievement, and we're always looking for the best and brightest to join us in our growth. We treat our people like family, we are mission-focused, and we give back! Join us today.

Our Financial Management & Business Analysis Portfolio supports the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC); the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (ASA) Financial Management and Comptroller (FM&C); the U.S. Army Financial Management Command (USAFMCOM); the Defense Health Agency (DHA); and many other DoD customers. We ensure the Army FM systems and processes are modernized and integrated to provide a complete range of financial and cost information needed for the Army to conduct business transactions, provide accountability to the public, and to support performance reporting and decision making. We provide effective functional systems support, user technical support, training support, and governance support of the Army's modernized and deployed FM domain ERP systems (GFEBS / GFEBS-SA / GCSS-A (Finance)), ensuring technological capabilities maturation and evolution aligns with Army and FM domain goals and objectives.

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team to support the Defense Health Agency Chief Data and Analytics Office in building an enterprise data orchestration layer for the Military Health System. The team will be bringing together information from diverse defense and federal systems to build scalable data pipelines, APIs, and data products that improve how critical health data is integrated, accessed, and used. You will be expected to work with functional subject matter experts to elicit, clarify, translate, and document business requirements into technical requirements for engineers as well as helping to validate business requirements during development.

Responsibilities

Elicit and document data requirements from functional subject matter experts across clinical, operational, financial, and readiness domains.

Translate business questions into technical data requirements, including source-to-target mappings, business rules, transformation logic, and acceptance criteria.

Profile source systems directly using SQL to assess data availability, completeness, and fitness for the intended use before requirements are finalized.

Define data quality rules and validation criteria with the engineering team, and test delivered silver and gold datasets against them.

Build and maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, data product documentation, and the metadata artifacts required for enterprise catalog registration.

Perform hands-on data analysis and technical validation, including writing transformation queries, building validation notebooks, and supporting light pipeline development in Databricks.

Support user acceptance testing and work directly with mission users to confirm data products meet their needs before release.

Write and refine user stories, maintain the requirements backlog, and participate in agile ceremonies with the pipeline and product teams.

Serve as the day-to-day bridge between Government functional owners, data stewards, and the technical delivery team.

Escalate data gaps, source system issues, and governance questions early, with a recommended path forward.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Public Health, or a related field

10+ years of business analysis, data analysis, or data product experience supporting analytics, reporting, or data integration work

Strong communication skills, with the ability to elicit requirements from non-technical mission experts, translate them for technical teams, and reconcile differences between business intent and technical implementation.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, navigate ambiguity, and drive assigned work to resolution without close supervision

Working knowledge of relational and dimensional data modeling concepts, including keys, relationships, grain, normalization, and fact and dimension structures.
