Job description
Our clien is seeking a Revenue Business Analyst / Functional Lead to support a major data platform modernization engagement. You will own revenue domain discovery, requirements, business definitions, business rule documentation, source-to-target functional mappings, metric definitions, Finance engagement, requirements traceability, reconciliation, and business UAT for the Revenue Enterprise Data Product.
You will serve as the primary functional bridge between client Finance and domain stakeholders and the client's architecture, data engineering, governance, BI, and QA teams. This is a high-visibility role that expands into customer and labor domains after the initial revenue MVP.
What You’ll Do
Lead revenue domain discovery and translate complex revenue and financial concepts into clear, implementable data rules and requirements
Document business rules, source-to-target functional mappings, and metric definitions
Drive requirements traceability, reconciliation (including old-to-new), and business UAT
Investigate and resolve data reconciliation variances
Facilitate workshops and decision-making with Finance stakeholders, including presentations to finance managers and CFO-level audiences
Partner with data engineering, architecture, governance, BI, and QA teams to ensure requirements are accurate and actionable
What You Bring
Strong technical business analysis experience with a financial or revenue domain background
Demonstrated understanding of taxation, POS transactions, promotional spend, and reconciliation processes
Solid SQL and data modeling skills
Experience translating complex revenue/financial concepts into implementable data rules
Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, documentation, and business acceptance skills
Comfort presenting to finance managers and senior Finance stakeholders
Consulting background preferred, with experience working across multiple client environments
Nice to Have
Exposure to Databricks (especially on a revenue or financial project)
Oracle Financials, Hyperion, or similar ERP experience
Experience with analytical data models, data quality, governed metrics, semantic layers, or enterprise data product concepts
This is a 6-month (+/-) contract to hire position that will convert assuming a good fit for all.
