The business is now hiring a commercial attorney (ideally 4-5 years' PQE) to join its high-performing in-house legal team, supporting strategically critical areas of growth and working on high-impact, global financial technology solutions, including consumer-facing checkout services.
This is a high-impact role supporting the business as it continues to evolve its commercial strategy, with a particular focus on major merchant partnerships, strategic commercial agreements and third-party distribution arrangements.
The Opportunity
Lead and negotiate a variety of, complex merchant agreements with renowned businesses.
Renegotiate and evolve existing commercial contracts as relationships and business models develop.
Support third-party distribution agreements and strategic partnerships.
Work closely with Sales and Product to structure and execute commercially attractive deals.
Develop a deep understanding of products and commercial strategy and become a genuine business partner to the organisation.
Work with major players across the payments ecosystem, including Stripe and Adyen, alongside other leading payment and technology companies.
About You
Ideally, you'll be around 4-5 PQE with strong experience across:
Commercial contracts / commercial technology
Payments, fintech or technology
Sales and product-facing legal work
Negotiating complex commercial and strategic agreements
Working closely with senior commercial stakeholders
This company is particularly interested in lawyers who are commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable operating at pace. You'll need to understand the business behind the legal issue, have strong stakeholder management skills and genuinely enjoy partnering with Sales and Product.
The team also embraces modern ways of working and is looking for someone comfortable using tools such as Slack and Claude to work efficiently. You'll work on a variety of merchant and strategic commercial partnerships across the payments ecosystem, with exposure to leading global players such as Stripe and Adyen, as well as other major payment providers and technology partners.
Package
Up to $254,000 depending on experience plus benefits.
