Job description
Our client is looking to add an experienced Senior Commercial Claims Adjuster to their California claims team. This position will manage a caseload of complex commercial and public-entity claims, including General Liability, Auto Liability, Property, and litigated matters.
The Senior Claims Adjuster will be responsible for managing claims from initial reporting through final resolution, including investigating losses, evaluating liability and damages, establishing reserves, interpreting coverage, coordinating with defense counsel, negotiating settlements, and pursuing subrogation opportunities when appropriate. The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling complex commercial or public-entity liability claims and be comfortable independently managing litigated and higher-severity files.
The ideal candidate will have strong multiline claims experience and be comfortable independently managing files from initial investigation through resolution.
Candidates must reside in Sacramento, CA or the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of commercial and public-entity claims from assignment through resolution.
Investigate losses and evaluate liability, damages, coverage, and overall exposure.
Handle General Liability, Auto Liability, Property, and other complex claims.
Establish and maintain appropriate reserves.
Coordinate with attorneys, claimants, vendors, and other involved parties.
Manage litigated files and assist with settlement strategy and negotiations.
Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation.
Qualifications
4 years of commercial Property and/or Liability claims experience.
Experience handling complex and litigated claims.
Strong knowledge of liability investigation, reserving, negotiation, and settlement practices.
Public entity, self-insured, or school-related claims experience is preferred.
Ability to independently manage a senior-level caseload.
Strong organizational and communication skills.

$100,000--$140,000, depending on experience
