As our North American business continues to grow, we're looking for Commissioning Engineers (Level I & II) to join our Service team and support the successful commissioning of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the United States.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review commissioning packages during the planning and pre-commissioning phases to ensure project readiness.
Track commissioning progress against project schedules, identify risks, and support recovery plans when needed.
Execute commissioning activities in accordance with approved commissioning plans, company standards, and safety procedures.
Coordinate on-site commissioning activities with EPC contractors, project teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
Perform commissioning and startup activities for utility-scale BESS projects, including Energy Station startup and complete system validation.
Conduct commissioning tests, including:
Electrical verification
Communication validation
Controls verification
Charge and discharge testing
Verify installation completeness and confirm system readiness before commissioning.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving:
Power Conversion Systems (PCS)
Battery Systems
Controls
Communication Networks
Auxiliary Systems
Support interface testing with SCADA, EMS, and utility grid interconnection systems.
Document commissioning results, punch list items, non-conformances, and commissioning reports.
Support final system handover to Operations by ensuring all commissioning documentation is complete.
Maintain full compliance with OSHA requirements, site safety plans, and HyperStrong safety policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent field experience.
Commissioning Engineer I: Typically 1–3 years of relevant commissioning or field engineering experience.
Commissioning Engineer II: Typically 4+ years of utility-scale commissioning experience with the ability to independently lead commissioning activities.
Working knowledge of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and power conversion equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and control drawings.
Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, controls, and communication systems.
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and applicable electrical safety standards.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience commissioning utility-scale lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems.
Experience working for a BESS OEM, system integrator, or EPC contractor.
Experience with:
Performance Testing
Capacity Testing
Grid Compliance Testing
Hands-on experience with PCS, SCADA, EMS, and utility-scale system commissioning.
