Senior Project Manager – Indianapolis
A well-established general contractor in Indianapolis is looking to add an experienced Senior Project Manager to their team. This is an opportunity for a proven construction professional who can take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout and serve as a key point of contact for clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
The ideal candidate has a strong commercial construction background and experience managing healthcare, education, institutional, or other complex commercial projects .
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through completion, managing budgets, schedules, contracts, client relationships, and the overall project team.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can independently run work, anticipate issues, and keep projects moving while maintaining strong relationships with clients and trade partners.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
Own project budgets, schedules, contracts, and overall financial performance
Manage and mentor Project Managers, APMs, and project support staff
Work closely with Superintendents to coordinate day-to-day project execution
Lead owner, architect, subcontractor, and project team meetings
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
Develop and maintain project schedules and identify potential delays
Review plans, specifications, scopes, and contracts
Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
Identify and resolve project issues before they impact cost or schedule
Participate in preconstruction, estimating, and business development efforts as needed
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of commercial construction experience
Proven experience as a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager
Experience independently managing projects from start to finish
Strong background in commercial, healthcare, education, or institutional construction
Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and subcontractors
Strong understanding of construction documents and project controls
Excellent communication and client-management skills
Ability to lead and mentor junior project team members
Procore or similar construction management software experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
