About this opportunity

Location: United States – Remote/Hybrid

Travel: New Mexico site visit required approximately once per month

As Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for providing senior-level contracts and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. You will support the effective administration and management of contracts, identify and mitigate commercial risks, and ensure contractual obligations are understood and appropriately managed.

The role will involve working closely with project and commercial teams to provide contractual advice, manage changes and claims, and support the successful commercial delivery of the project.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a complex project environment and working with multiple stakeholders across the client, contractor and consultant teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead the day-to-day management and administration of major project contracts.

Provide senior contractual and commercial advice to project leadership and key stakeholders.

Review and interpret contract terms, conditions and associated documentation.

Manage contractual correspondence, notices, instructions and other formal contract communications.

Identify, assess and manage contractual and commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage the preparation, assessment and negotiation of contract changes, variations and amendments.

Support the management and resolution of contractual claims, disputes and commercial issues.

Review contractor submissions and assess entitlement, cost and contractual compliance.

Monitor contractor performance against contractual requirements and deliverables.

Ensure contractual obligations, milestones and key dates are appropriately monitored.

Work closely with cost management and project controls teams to ensure commercial and contractual information is aligned.

Provide commercial input into procurement, tendering and contract award activities where required.

Support negotiations with contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.

Maintain accurate contract records, registers and reporting.

Prepare contractual and commercial reports for senior management and the client.

Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance and minimise project risk.

Ensure compliance with relevant contractual, commercial, regulatory and project requirements.

Support the development and implementation of contract management processes and procedures.

Provide guidance and mentoring to junior commercial and contracts team members where required.

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

Significant experience in contract management on major construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy or other complex projects.

Experience managing contracts from award through to completion.

Strong knowledge of contract administration, change management, claims and commercial risk.

Experience reviewing and interpreting complex contractual terms.

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Experience working collaboratively with clients, contractors, consultants and project teams.

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to identify contractual risks and develop practical solutions.

Experience working within highly regulated or safety-critical environments is highly desirable.

Experience within the nuclear sector is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

A relevant degree or professional qualification in quantity surveying, commercial management, construction, engineering, law or a related discipline is desirable.
