Job description
Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Senior Data Scientist (onsite) to build advanced diagnostics, prognostics, and engine health monitoring analytics for commercial fleet operations.
Responsibilities
Develop advanced analytics using statistical modeling , physics-informed approaches , machine learning , and AI applied to operational fleet data
Address complex analytical problems, taking solutions from concept through validation and deployment
Define and advance analytic methods, modeling standards , validation practices , and technical best practices across the Commercial DPHM data science team
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align analytics with engine physics , system behavior , and customer needs
Ensure deployed analytics meet targets for accuracy , robustness , and reliability , including continuous performance monitoring and improvement
Support long-term data science strategy through capability development and roadmap planning for Commercial DPHM
What You Will Do (DPHM / CDS context)
Work within Controls & Diagnostics Systems (CDS) , which handles requirements analysis and definition, system and software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, plus verification and validation
Contribute to the Diagnostics, Prognostics & Health Management (DPHM) discipline by supporting systems that ingest and process engine data, enable secure and efficient access, and produce insights and alerts for fleet reliability and efficiency
Develop advanced diagnostics, prognostics, and engine health monitoring analytics supporting commercial fleet operations
Perform the role onsite at the P&W East Hartford facility
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with 3 years prior relevant experience
Expertise across a variety of statistics , data science , machine learning , and AI techniques
Expertise with Python and core data science/modeling libraries
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience developing analytics for operational , real-world , or safety-critical applications
Expertise analyzing, modeling, and interpreting time series data
Experience with MLOps practices, including model versioning, automated testing, CI/CD for analytics, and model lifecycle management
Experience deploying to cloud-based applications

Compensation
Salary range: USD 86,800 - 165,200 per year
U.S.-based role; if residing in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply
