About the Role:
nAs a CBRE Senior Development Accountant, you will be responsible for the routine accounting for specific real estate development projects and/or business units. This includes, but is not limited to, monthly journal entries and G/L maintenance, account reconciliation and analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
nWhat You'll Do:
nnnG/L maintenance, monthly close, and financial reporting packages for assigned projects or business units.
n
nnReview development agreements and determine fee recognition in accordance with GAAP.
n
nnWork with technical accounting group to resolve complex accounting issues.
n
nnPrepare monthly recurring journal entries and adjusting journal entries as needed.
n
nnReview income statements and balance sheets at month-end for specific transactions on assigned projects; research, reconcile, and resolve issues for all balance sheet accounts on assigned projects and business units.
n
nnCash management; process wires for acquisitions/closings.
n
nnReview/prepare construction draws and reconcile to the general ledger asset accounts.
n
nnParticipate in the budgeting and forecasting process.
n
nnReview fixed asset ledgers to ensure items are properly capitalized.
n
nnPrepare and/or review a variety of routine and ad hoc financial reports for management and other internal customers.
n
nnRespond to routine and non-routine inquiries from field offices, other departments and colleagues.
n
nnFacilitate internal and external audits of projects/business units.
n
nnPrepare federal tax templates for tax department.
n
n nWhat You'll Need:
nnnBachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
n
nnUnderstanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
n
nnAbility to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
n
nnIn-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
n
nnStrong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
n
nnAdvanced math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
