Job description

THE COMPANY

At Cardiovascular Associates of America (CVAUSA), we believe that the total cost of cardiovascular care is too high and the optimal way to identify and remove the avoidable costs in cardiovascular care delivery is by equipping and empowering cardiovascular physicians with new care models and new financial incentives via risk-based contracts.

Novocardia, the value-based care division of CVAUSA, is responsible for supporting our partner practices to transform care models in ways which improve care quality and help achieve the triple aim and implement risk-based contracting. We are deeply passionate about improving care quality, and about providing more Americans with access to great, evidence-based chronic disease care. We are also committed to building more sustainable and durable payment models for this care – models which reward clinicians for delivering the right care, in the right place at the right time.

Opportunity

CVAUSA is seeking a SrDirector of Value Based Care Clinical Operations to join our Novocardia Division. This role focuses on managing clinical teams for partnerships in arrangements that include total cost of care, sub-capitation cardiology models, and bundled payment agreements. This is an externally facing role focused on fostering strong relationships with partners, facilitating strategic alignment, and ensuring operational success.

Reporting directly to the Division President, the SrDirector of Clinical Operations leads the VBC clinical care model and workforce, establishes reliable clinical operating processes, and ensures clinical performance is aligned with contractual and quality requirements. This role contributes clinical and operational leadership to Joint Operating Committees and partner discussions, in partnership with the accountable Market/Partner leader.

Responsible for contract performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement in collaboration with internal teams. Collaborate with Data & Analytics around contract reporting; collaborate with Operations around metric outlier management.

Responsible for clinical team KPIs and success metrics. This leader will direct the clinicians, policies, procedures and execution of the clinical model.

Develop scalable processes and ensure regulatory requirements including payor contractual metrics are met.

Strategic Alignment: Understand the financial, clinical, and operational drivers of risk-bearing cardiology agreements.

Work closely with internal analytics, medical economics, clinical operations, and finance teams to track outcomes, support decision-making, and drive partner satisfaction.

Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to optimize performance under existing agreements.

Understand strategic partner needs, priorities, and objectives that may be relevant to future contract renewal.

Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present performance updates, recommendations, and action plans to both internal leadership and external partners.

Ensure timely and transparent communication of risks, challenges, and achievements.

Strong verbal and written presentation skills. Able to engage and connect with a broad spectrum of stakeholders across the healthcare landscape.

Ability to communicate at both a strategic level and a more granular tactical level.
