Job description

Senior Director, U.S. Federal Sales

Tysons Corner, VA Hybrid – 3 days per week in office

Direct Hire

Salary Target: $200,000 – $230,000 base + commission + equity

Our client is a global space technology and intelligence organization that develops, operates, and manufactures satellite-based platforms used by government and commercial customers around the world. Its capabilities span RF intelligence, geolocation, aviation data, weather and climate intelligence, space-based services, and other mission-critical data solutions. The company operates within a rapidly growing segment of the commercial space market and supports customers across defense, intelligence, national security, aviation, and other complex operational environments.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Director of U.S. Federal Sales to lead the continued buildout and growth of a federal sales organization supporting defense, intelligence, homeland security, and government contractor customers. This is a true player-coach position for a senior federal sales leader who is equally comfortable personally closing strategic opportunities and developing a high-performing sales team. The Senior Director will carry an individual quota, establish go-to-market strategy, drive pipeline and revenue growth, and provide leadership across major federal pursuits. The organization is building this function with significant room for growth, making this an opportunity to directly influence sales structure, market strategy, customer engagement, and long-term expansion across the U.S. Federal market.

Required Skills:

Active TS/SCI clearance in good standing.

8+ years of successful U.S. Federal sales experience, with a strong track record of personally owning and closing complex opportunities.

Direct commercial experience selling space-based products, data, or services into federal government customers.

Experience selling solutions involving ISR, RF technology, geolocation, SIGINT, GEOINT, satellite-derived intelligence, space services, or closely related capabilities.

Demonstrated success carrying an individual quota while simultaneously leading, mentoring, or managing other federal sales professionals.

Strong understanding of defense, intelligence, homeland security, and national security buying environments.

Experience managing multiple federal procurement pathways and advancing several complex opportunities within the same sales cycle or quarter.

Deep understanding of federal acquisition processes, contracting structures, and government procurement mechanisms.

Familiarity with contract vehicles and acquisition methods such as IDIQs, OTAs, GSA Schedule, SEWP, and related federal pathways.

Strong existing relationships or demonstrated ability to build credibility with federal agency stakeholders, mission leaders, and government decision-makers.

Experience partnering with technical, engineering, product, or mission teams to align customer requirements with commercially available capabilities.

Bonus / Soft Skills: Experience selling commercial space capabilities rather than traditional IT or cybersecurity solutions alone.

Background selling multi-INT, RF intelligence, geospatial intelligence, satellite data, or related mission-focused solutions.

Experience working with systems integrators and positioning commercial technologies within larger federal programs.

Strong market awareness and ability to identify emerging opportunities across the commercial space and national security ecosystem.
