Job description
DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior DNS Engineer to join the DNS Products team, where you will develop control plane software for DNS services. You will design and build APIs, troubleshoot customer issues, optimize services running at scale, and help the team own product offerings end-to- end.
What You’ll Do
Implement, test, and optimize new services and tools that run at scale and solve performance and monitoring problems
Work with other teams within Networking to build next-generation products and services for the developer community
Support existing products and contribute creative solutions to customer pain points
Improve tooling and processes to ship robust, mission-critical parts of the ecosystem
Establish best practices for development and architecture across the team
What You Need
Experience designing and developing full-stack applications with databases and APIs
Experience deploying and operating Linux (Ubuntu) based virtual and bare metal hosts
Experience with Go programming language and unit tests
Domain knowledge of DNS and Networking stack, or strong willingness to learn
Experience with cloud development, containerization, and virtualization
Nice to Have
Experience using gRPC to build robust distributed and high-demand systems
Working knowledge of Temporal and Kafka
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or relevant equivalent experience
Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)
$139,200–$174,000 per year, plus bonus based on company and individual performance, equity compensation including grants upon hire and Employee Stock Purchase Program access.
