Senior Electrical Engineer – Development & Test
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite – 5 Days/Week
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer – Development & Test to support the development, validation, troubleshooting, and production readiness of advanced Pro AV and electronic products.
This role will serve as a technical bridge between electrical engineering, test and validation, and automated test development teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electronics development, board bring-up, hardware debugging, verification/validation, and test automation.
This is a fully onsite, hands-on engineering position that requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple engineering and manufacturing functions.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in hardware development, design reviews, testing, troubleshooting, verification, and documentation of new electronic and video system designs.
Perform board bring-up, including power rail validation, processor initialization, memory verification, and interface testing.
Execute design verification and validation (V&V) activities to ensure product performance and reliability.
Troubleshoot complex electrical and hardware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
Perform root cause analysis on development, production, and field-return failures.
Investigate and resolve hardware issues identified during development and manufacturing testing.
Support the development, implementation, and deployment of automated test systems.
Debug automated test failures involving hardware, test fixtures, firmware, software, and test scripts.
Develop and maintain test fixtures, validation plans, failure reports, and manufacturing test strategies.
Collaborate closely with software, firmware, FPGA, mechanical, manufacturing, marketing, and sales teams.
Provide technical guidance and support to software developers working on automated test scripts.
Help improve manufacturing test processes, product reliability, and overall test coverage.
Document technical findings, troubleshooting procedures, validation results, and corrective actions.
Serve as a technical resource and help drive engineering issues through resolution.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics development, board bring-up, hardware validation, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
Hands-on experience with laboratory test and measurement equipment, including:
Logic analyzers
Spectrum analyzers
Power analyzers
Digital multimeters
Working knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, and USB.
Ability to interpret and troubleshoot schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, and technical documentation.
Strong electrical debugging and root-cause-analysis skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Python scripting and automated test development.
Experience with FPGA development, debugging, or troubleshooting.
Experience developing manufacturing test processes and Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
Experience with embedded systems and board-level validation.
Experience supporting production test and manufacturing engineering.
Previous experience serving as a technical lead or engineering lead.
Experience in medical, networking, video, industrial, communications, or professional AV electronics.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other quality-regulated environments.
