Curi Bio is a Seattle-based developer of human stem cell-based platforms for drug discovery. By combining human stem cell models, tissue-specific biosystems, and AI/machine learning-based phenotypic screening, we help scientists build more mature and predictive iPSC-derived tissues, with a focus on cardiac, musculoskeletal, and neuromuscular models, closing the gap between preclinical data and human results.
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team and own the electronics at the heart of our platforms. Job Responsibilities
Multidisciplinarian with a strong emphasis on hardware design who can work within a team of electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, bioengineers, and biologists to execute product designs in a startup environment where creative problem solving and speed are key
Moving a product through its entire lifecycle from concept to production; including design, prototyping, validation, and testing
Lead high-level architecture design discussions and lower-level implementation strategies of product features for hardware and firmware solutions
Develop, design, and support printed circuit boards (PCBs) for our instrumentation products
Firmware development and Integration into our instrument hardware
Establish timelines and project scopes with project managers to meet deadlines and milestones
Perform other job-related duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of professional electrical engineering experience, with a proven record of leading hardware designs
Experience in the development of medical devices and/or scientific instrumentation
Experience using CAD tools (e.g. Altium Designer) for schematic capture and multilayer PCB layout.
Experience using circuit simulation tools (e.g. LTspice) for design verification
Experience in mixed-signal analog circuit design
Experience in digital, analog and DC power circuits design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM / DFA)
Experience using standard test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers and data loggers
Deep understanding and experience with soldering, rework, assembly, and testing of PCBs
Must have experience moving a product from R&D to a stable release for production
Some code development and programming experience
Pluses
Experience in MCU systems (ARM and CORTEX), both in hardware design and code development for these systems.
Working knowledge of C/C++ code development on various development platforms, including STM32Cube IDE
Background in opto-electronics and digital-signal processing
Embedded Linux experience
IPC-A-610 certification
47 CFR Part 15 and CE compliance certification experience
Salary
Full-Time Salary Range: $127k–$160k + benefits – actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
