Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Research & Development: Develop high-impact technology concepts focused on computer vision algorithms, perception, and system-level integration.
Technical Leadership: Lead and contribute to system architecture, design, and software development lifecycles.
Strategic Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external thought leaders across the computer vision stack to identify and drive new applications and research initiatives.
Position Requirements
Education: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 5+ years' applied experience, OR Master's Degree plus 8+ years' experience.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in at least three of the following:Systems architecture, design, and integration.
Development of camera and sensor drivers.
Software engineering and architecture for complex systems.
Spatial Awareness:Robotic perception, SLAM, visual odometry, or 3D point cloud processing (e.g., PCL, Open3D).
System Integration:Architecture design, sensor fusion, and driver development for complex camera/lidar arrays
Simulation:Use of synthetic environments (e.g., NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo) for model training and validation.
Hardware-in-the-loop:Integrating software into operational robotic systems or industrial hardware.
Perception & Learning: Advanced computer vision algorithms, deep learning (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and model optimization for edge deployment.
Development Proficiency: Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
Execution: Proven track record of delivering technical projects and integrating software into functional, real-world systems.
Compliance: Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not provide sponsorship for work authorization visas at the Master's level, now or in the future, for this position vacancy
Must be 18 years or older.
Must be willing to undergo a drug test and background investigation.
Must be willing to work on-site in Niskayuna, NY.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
