Summary
The Senior Engineering Manager will lead a distributed team responsible for Nordstrom's real-time data pipelines and streaming infrastructure. This hybrid role drives platform strategy, technical delivery, operational excellence, and team development.
Responsibilities
Set the platform vision and roadmap, and guide engineers in delivering scalable, secure, highly available solutions.
Lead architecture, project planning, implementation, and operations for cross-functional initiatives.
Partner with product, program, business, and leadership teams to define goals and measure outcomes.
Recruit, coach, and develop engineering talent while improving team performance and delivery.
Requirements
At least 10 years of software engineering experience and 5 or more years managing a team.
Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with cloud-based, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, streaming data pipelines, and business-critical systems.
Knowledge of technologies such as Kafka, Temporal, Airflow, Java, or Python, and experience leading cross-functional software projects.
