Senior Experimental MachinistSenior Experimental Machinist will support research and teaching missions of physics and other science and engineering departments by fulfilling responsibilities of a top-level tool maker who can design and fabricate mechanical apparatus. Must be able to work with faculty, staff, and students on design and manufacturing of apparatus.Education and Experience: High school diploma, 5 years prior experienceSkills and Knowledge: CAMsoftware trainingResponsibilities: Design prototype lab and research equipment; Design and build fixtures and jigs; Manufacture high precision equipment with limited information/documentation; Modify current research equipment Administer and track jobs using software provided by Syracuse University Operate state-of-the-art manufacturing and machining equipment (CAMequipment) Maintain and repair shop equipment Advise members of the departmentIn addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.
