Job description
Role Overview Apply senior-level FreeCAD and mechanical engineering expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through high-quality, real-world engineering input. You will create, assess, and improve CAD deliverables that support how AI models learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to project requirements.
Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies using sound assembly-design and component-integration practices.
Apply GD&T and design-for-manufacturing principles to support quality and manufacturability.
Produce clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
Conduct engineering quality-assurance reviews of CAD models and drawings, identify issues, communicate findings, and help resolve them.
Use Python scripting for CAD automation to streamline repetitive or complex modeling tasks, when applicable.
Provide feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.
Qualifications 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or a related field focused on parametric CAD modeling.
Advanced proficiency with FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
Strong mechanical design knowledge, including GD&T and design-for-manufacturing best practices.
Ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
Experience with engineering QA, model-integrity verification, and specification compliance.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote, project-based collaboration.
Python scripting and CAD automation experience is highly preferred, but not required.
Work Terms Remote contractor engagement.
Compensation $40 to $100 per hour.
