Job description

GSE Mechanic with a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) Background

Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), Incorporated is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) system engineering and information technology firm. Incorporated in 1999, we support mission critical Information Technology (IT) business needs for clients within the intelligence community (IC), Department of Defense (DOD), Veteran Administration (VA) and for select commercial clients. ACET, Inc.'s technical, programmatic, and analytical professionals are experts in commercial technology, customized solutions, and proprietary government systems.

We are seeking an experienced GSE Mechanic with a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) background to support the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) work center. In this senior technical and oversight role, you will diagnose, repair, and inspect powered and non-powered aviation ground support equipment (GSE) supporting AH-1Z and UH-1Y rotary-wing aircraft. Beyond standard repair tasks, your primary mission is to serve as an extended arm of the Quality Assurance department—conducting high-level inspections, certifying critical safety steps, and mentoring technicians to ensure all equipment transitions efficiently through the maintenance cycle to produce Ready For Issue (RFI) assets that maximize flight-line readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Work Center Flow & RFI Production: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair GSE within the MALS work center, ensuring assets meet all quality standards to be certified as Ready For Issue (RFI).

CDQAR Quality Assurance & Inspections: Perform high-visibility Quality Assurance functions within the production work center. Conduct mandatory In-Process, Final, and Safety-of-Flight inspections on all critical GSE maintenance tasks.

Tire and Wheel Maintenance: Perform teardown, build-up, inspection, and safe inflation/deflation of aviation support equipment wheels in strict compliance with NAVAIR tire and wheel safety regulations.

H-1 Platform Equipment Support: Service rotary-wing specific support equipment, including hydraulic test stands, mobile electric power plants (MEPPs), tow tractors, and aircraft spotting dollies used for AH/UH platforms.

NAMP Documentation: Accurately document all maintenance actions, inspector sign-offs, and part requests using NALCOMIS / Optimized NALCOMIS (O-OMA).

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of military or contractor aviation GSE maintenance experience (MOS 6071, 6072, 6073, or civilian equivalent), specifically within a MALS or Navy AIMD work center environment.

Required Certification: Must hold or have previously held an authorized Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) qualification (or Senior QAR) under the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series. (Candidates with a strong CDI background who meet all NAMP requirements for immediate CDQAR designation may be considered).

Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to interpret complex hydraulic schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and NAVAIR technical publications.

Integrity & Mindset: Must possess the highest standards of professional integrity, a strict compliance-first mindset, and the ability to train and mentor junior mechanics on maintenance safety.

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain access to the military installation and relevant MALS facilities.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and manipulate up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and squat for extended periods.

Must be able to work in a high-noise environment and around aircraft-related operations.

Fit-for-duty and/or respiratory physical may be required based on contract requirements.
