Job description
Senior Industrial ElectricianJob Title: Electrician III – Senior Industrial ElectricianLocation: 531 Old Swede Road – Douglassville, PA 19518Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5:00AM–1:30PM | Full-time on-siteCompensation: Competitive hourly rate up to $45/hour based on experience, technical capability, and market data.At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we are hiring experienced Senior Industrial Electricians who can independently complete complex electrical installations, troubleshoot advanced systems, and serve as trusted technical resources within our manufacturing team. This is a senior-level craft position for electricians who want to remain hands-on, take ownership of their work, and be relied upon for their technical judgment. One of the core responsibilities of this role is planning, bending, threading, and installing rigid conduit for custom crane and hoist systems. If you take pride in clean conduit runs, accurate wiring, and high-quality industrial electrical work, this role may be a strong fit.You will not get lost here. Your work will be seen, and it will matter. This is a senior-level, hands-on industrial electrical position focused on building custom overhead cranes, hoists, and engineered lifting systems. You will spend most of your time performing complex electrical installations, bending and installing rigid conduit, wiring motors and control systems, interpreting detailed electrical drawings, and troubleshooting issues throughout the manufacturing and testing process. This is not repetitive production wiring. Every project is different, and the work requires craftsmanship, technical judgment, problem-solving, and accountability for the safety, accuracy, and quality of the finished installation. This is also not a supervisory position. You will remain actively involved in the work while providing technical guidance and setting a strong example for less experienced electricians. You are likely to succeed here if you take ownership of your work, stand behind the quality of what you build, and can operate independently without needing constant oversight. You should enjoy solving complex electrical problems, working from engineering drawings, and producing rigid conduit installations that are both functional and professionally executed.Strong candidates are comfortable being relied upon for their expertise. They lead through their workmanship, judgment, reliability, and willingness to support others without requiring a formal management title. This role is likely not a fit if you prefer repetitive or low-skill electrical work, need frequent direction before taking action, cut corners on quality or safety, or are primarily seeking a move into people management rather than remaining hands-on.During your first 90 days, you will learn ACECO's electrical standards, manufacturing processes, and safety expectations while becoming familiar with our custom crane and hoist systems. You will be expected to independently complete complex electrical installations, plan and execute rigid conduit runs, interpret electrical drawings, and troubleshoot issues across the build, test, and production stages. As you establish credibility within the team, you will also begin serving as a technical resource for Electrician I and II team members by sharing best practices, answering questions, and demonstrating strong electrical craftsmanship through your own work.Your experience, judgment, and craftsmanship will be trusted. Senior electricians are expected to take ownership of their work and make sound technical decisions within established standards. You will work on engineered crane and hoist systems rather than repetitive production wiring. Every project presents different installation, conduit, wiring, and troubleshooting requirements. You can remain hands-on while helping strengthen the technical capability of the electrical team. This role allows you to mentor and influence without moving into formal supervision. The quality of your electrical work directly affects the safety, reliability, and performance of equipment used in demanding industrial environments.ACECO offers stable, full-time employment within a long-tenured workforce built around ownership, accountability, safety, quality, Continuous Improvement, and GRIT.Advanced Electrical Installation and AssemblyPerform complex electrical installations on custom overhead cranes and hoist systemsBuild, wire, and troubleshoot control panels, motors, resistors, festoon systems, push-button stations, and related componentsRead and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentationFabricate and install electrical brackets, supports, enclosures, and assembliesComplete electrical installations independently while maintaining quality and production expectationsRigid Conduit Fabrication and InstallationMeasure, plan, bend, thread, and install rigid conduit for custom industrial electrical systemsProduce accurate bends, offsets, kicks, saddles, and multi-bend conduit runsLay out conduit routes that are clean, functional, code-compliant, and efficientMinimize material waste, rework, and installation errors through accurate planning and measurementInstall conduit in accordance with electrical drawings, NEC requirements, and ACECO workmanship standardsProvide guidance to less experienced electricians on conduit layout, bending techniques, and installation practicesTroubleshooting and Problem SolvingDiagnose and resolve advanced electrical issues efficiently and safelyApply electrical theory and practical troubleshooting techniques to motors, control circuits, wiring systems, and related equipmentIdentify root causes rather than relying on temporary fixesWork with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve design, installation, and build challengesSupport electrical testing, verification, and equipment commissioningQuality, Safety, and StandardsFollow National Electrical Code, OSHA, and company safety requirementsVerify that electrical installations meet applicable drawings, specifications, and workmanship standardsPerform or support testing prior to equipment releaseIdentify quality concerns and correct deficiencies before work progressesMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areasProperly use required tools, equipment, and personal protective equipmentTechnical Leadership — Non-SupervisoryServe as a technical resource for Electrician I and II team membersShare best practices and support skill development through hands-on guidanceLead by example through safe work practices, reliability, craftsmanship, and accountabilityProvide realistic technical input to support production planning and work sequencingHelp identify opportunities to improve electrical processes, standards, and installation methodsWhat We're Looking ForEducationHigh school diploma or GED requiredElectrical apprenticeship, vocational program, trade school, or technical training preferredExperienceSeven or more years of industrial electrical, heavy equipment electrical, manufacturing electrical, or closely related experience preferredDemonstrated experience independently completing complex industrial electrical installationsSignificant experience bending, threading, and installing rigid conduitExperience working on cranes, hoists, large equipment, industrial controls, or custom machinery strongly preferredComparable experience and demonstrated technical capability may be considered in place of a specific number of yearsTechnical SkillsAdvanced ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagramsStrong working knowledge of the National Electrical CodeAdvanced rigid conduit layout, bending, threading, and installation capabilityExperience wiring control panels, motors, resistors, festoon systems, and industrial equipmentStrong electrical troubleshooting skills based on practical, real-world applicationAbility to use electrical test equipment safely and accuratelyAbility to identify installation risks, drawing discrepancies, and potential quality concernsAbility to complete complex work independently with minimal directionSkills and AttributesHigh level of craftsmanship and attention to detailStrong ownership and accountabilitySafety-first mindsetReliable attendance and consistent follow-throughProfessional communication and teamworkAbility to mentor others without formal authorityWillingness to share knowledge and support team developmentCommitment to Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and
