nPurpose
nReporting to the Manager, Internal Audit, this position is responsible for supporting the planning and conducting of financial and operational audits while working closely with functional business teams across the organization. Where required, participate in testing the design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), assessing the efficiency of operations, evaluating findings and providing recommendations, performing data analytics, documentation and reporting results.
nThis role works closely with functional business teams across the organization.
nAccountabilities
nnnPerforms financial, operational and compliance related audit engagements including planning, fieldwork, recommendations, client interactions, follow-ups and reporting.
n
nnDocuments work performed to department standards and IIA Professional Practice standards.
n
nnSupports drafting of audit reports and findings and recommendations discussions with auditees
n
nnHelps prepare audit programs and related schedules and follow-up with business process owners to ensure audit findings are addressed on a timely basis.
n
nnSupports ICFR testing efforts - create control testing scripts, complete field work, perform testing procedures, and document results to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
n
nnAssists IT general controls (ITGCs) testing to better understand various IT applications, risks and controls.
n
nnProvides feedback to functional teams to ensure good internal controls are maintained.
n
nnDevelops recommendations on enhancement of internal controls.
n
nnParticipate in department strategy working groups to drive efficiencies including use of digital tools, streamlining processes and documentation, performance metrics, analytics, indicators and dashboards.
n
nnCommunicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments to build strong working relationships with stakeholders
n
nnPerforms other duties as assigned or directed.
n
n nEducation and Experience
nnnAt least 3 years of internal audit and internal controls testing experience;
n
nnUndergraduate degree in accounting or a business-related field is required;
n
nnAn excellent command of English, both spoken and written, is a must.
n
nnCPA, CA, ACCA, CGA, CISA, CIA or CMA are preferred but not required.
n
nnExperience in power and utilities industry is a big plus;
n
nnSolid understanding of internal control frameworks is required (COSO required, COBIT is a plus);
n
nnAbility to work independently as well as demonstrate good team-work;
n
nnAbility to multi-task, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, healthy professional skepticism;
n
nnCommitted to ongoing learning activities, good attitude to increasing responsibilities;
n
nnExcellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation) and high level of diplomacy;
n
nnAdvanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
n
nnData analytics, SAP experience a plus.
