Garry Executive Search is conducting a confidential, retained search on behalf of a fee-only registered investment advisor in Central New Jersey seeking an experienced Senior Investment Analyst to support and grow within its investment research function. This is a strong opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in multi-asset research who is looking to develop into a firm leadership role over time, working closely with senior investment professionals on strategy, portfolio construction, and the firm's investment committee process.

The successful candidate will contribute to research across public equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, and alternative investments, support strategic asset allocation decisions, and play an increasingly active role with the firm's investment committee as they grow into the position. The role also includes collaborating with the broader research team, contributing to client communications and thought leadership content, and building toward a larger leadership role within the firm's investment platform.
What You'll Do
Conduct fundamental, quantitative, and macroeconomic research across asset classes
Evaluate individual securities, ETFs, mutual funds, and alternative investment strategies alongside senior team members
Help monitor portfolio positioning, asset allocation, and risk exposures across client portfolios
Contribute to the design and ongoing refinement of investment strategies and model portfolios
Support due diligence for external managers and alternative investment opportunities
Take a growing role in preparing and presenting research and recommendations to the investment committee
Collaborate with and support the broader research team on process, workflows, and best practices
Participate in client meetings when appropriate to discuss investment strategy and market outlook
Contribute to written market updates, commentary, and educational content
What We're Looking For
Required:
5+ years of professional investment research, portfolio management, or related investment experience
Solid, hands-on exposure across multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, and/or alternative investments)
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Demonstrated initiative, organizational skills, and a desire to grow into greater leadership responsibility over time
Preferred:
Experience at a registered investment advisor (RIA) or similar independent wealth management firm
Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
Exposure to alternative investments, including private credit, private equity, real estate, or hedge fund strategies
Experience using Bloomberg Terminal or other institutional research platforms
Interest in eventually contributing to or serving on an investment committee
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary $100K–$140K plus performance-based incentives and bonuses ($130K–$170K total starting comp), commensurate with experience
Employee-owned firm; all employees participate in an ESOP with annual dividend withdrawal
401k with a safe harbor match up to 4% plus a discretionary match of 3% of compensation

Hybrid schedule, two days remote per week, plus additional WFH periods around summer and holidays
