Job description
Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend applications and services .
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
Design and implement efficient backend architectures with a focus on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability .
Develop database solutions using SQL and relational databases .
Troubleshoot application, API, database, and production issues.
Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.
Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code.
Develop unit and integration tests and participate in overall application quality initiatives.
Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
Support CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, and production releases.
Identify opportunities for improving application performance, reliability, and development processes.
Required Skills & Experience
6+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on experience in Java.
Strong proficiency in Java 8+ , including object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, exception handling, and Java APIs.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring MVC .
Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices .
Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems .
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL .
Experience with JPA/Hibernate or similar ORM technologies.
Experience with JUnit, Mockito , or similar testing frameworks.
Strong understanding of Git and software development best practices.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with distributed technical teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud .
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming technologies .
Experience with Redis or other caching technologies .
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps .
Experience with application monitoring and observability tools.
Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, API security, and secure coding practices .
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of backend services.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
