Under the direction and supervision of the Division Supervisor/Manager, the Sr Lab Assistant ensures accurate and timely drawing, receipt, centrifugation, and delivery of laboratory specimens to appropriate departments and reference labs. Staff duties may include specimen collection (Phlebotomy), receiving, accessioning, plating and set up (Processing, Microbiology, Pathology), and loading specimens on instruments and basic instrument maintenance (Chemistry, Hematology, Pathology).

Required Qualifications:

Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License or

Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License

1 year experience as a Phlebotomist or Lab Assistant performing blood specimen collections, specimen processing, centrifuging and handling send out specimens to other laboratories, or experience in working in a laboratory division

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years experience in blood specimen collections

2 years experience performing specimen processing, centrifuging and handling send out specimens to other laboratories, or working in a laboratory division

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
