Summary

The Senior Litigation Associate is an experienced attorney responsible for independently managing complex litigation matters and providing strategic legal counsel to the F3’s clients. The successful candidate will have strong litigation experience and the ability to handle matters through all stages of the litigation process, from initial case assessment through discovery, motion practice, settlement, trial, and appeal, as appropriate.

This role is ideal for a seasoned litigator who enjoys taking ownership of matters, working directly with clients, and collaborating with an experienced legal team.

This is a hybrid position, generally requiring regular in-office collaboration approximately two to three days per week. The Firm is open to discussing reduced-hour and part-time schedules with qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

Independently manage a diverse and sophisticated litigation caseload.

Develop and execute effective litigation strategies.

Represent clients in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution forums.

Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery, depositions, document review, and discovery-related motion practice.

Draft and argue motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents.

Take and defend depositions and prepare facts and expert witnesses.

Participate in hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.

Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical advice regarding litigation strategy and risk.

Work directly with clients to understand objectives, communicate case developments, and provide responsive counsel.

Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and legal support professionals.

Assist with mentoring junior attorneys and legal professionals.

Participate in business development and client relationship-building activities, as appropriate.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Active license and good standing with the Missouri Bar required.

Illinois Bar admission is strongly preferred.

Approximately 6+ years of substantial civil litigation experience.

Demonstrated experience independently managing litigation matters.

Strong deposition, discovery, motion practice, negotiation, and advocacy experience.

Trial and/or significant hearing experience preferred.

Exceptional legal research, writing, communication, and analytical skills.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Excellent judgment, client service orientation, and ability to work collaboratively.
