Job Title: Senior Mainframe Application Developer
Location(s): New York City, NY (Remote)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Mainframe Application Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing critical mainframe applications. We are looking for a self-starter who can hit the ground running, work independently, and drive results without constant supervision.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team while collaborating with major technology partners.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL and Core Mainframe technologies.
Manage and optimize DB2 databases and perform SAM (Systems Asset Management/Storage Access Method) related tasks.
Integrate mainframe systems with modern applications using Java.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide senior-level support for production environments.
Proactively identify areas for system improvement and optimization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
Senior-level experience, typically 7+ years, in Mainframe Application Development.
Technical Stack
Core Mainframe: JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF.
Languages: COBOL (Expert level).
Database: DB2 (Strong proficiency).
Other: SAM, Java, and other relevant mainframe tools.
Soft Skills
Self-Driven: Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Proactive: Must anticipate issues and suggest solutions rather than just reacting to tickets.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
Prior experience collaborating with or working alongside IBM resources.
