Job description

Senior Manager Corporate Accounting - Lucrative Compensation Package & Defined Career Path - Lincoln, NE - HEMPHILL EXCLUSIVE!

Excellent opportunity to join one of Nebraska's strongest corporations in a highly visible Senior Manager role supporting the company's technical accounting and financial reporting functions. This position will be a key resource within the accounting organization, partnering closely with the Corporate Controller, CFO, business unit leaders, legal counsel, external auditors, and other members of the finance team on complex accounting matters, significant transactions, and special projects.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys digging into complex accounting questions, researching guidance, developing thoughtful conclusions, and helping the organization navigate accounting issues that don't always have a simple answer. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of technical accounting projects, prepare accounting memos and documentation, evaluate the accounting implications of significant business transactions, and help ensure the company's financial reporting accurately reflects the underlying business activity.

Serve as a key technical accounting resource, researching and evaluating complex accounting matters and developing well-supported accounting conclusions and recommendations.

Prepare technical accounting memorandums, position papers, financial statement disclosures, and other reporting documentation related to significant or non-routine accounting matters.

Take ownership of the accounting surrounding acquisitions, business combinations, purchase accounting, purchase price allocations, goodwill and impairment analyses, revenue recognition, lease accounting, debt compliance, equity transactions, derivatives, and other unique accounting matters.

Partner with business unit and corporate accounting teams to understand transactions and ensure appropriate accounting treatment, documentation, and financial statement presentation.

Monitor changes in accounting standards and emerging guidance, helping assess their impact on the organization and assisting with implementation when necessary.

Work closely with external auditors and internal accounting leadership to support technical accounting conclusions, resolve complex accounting questions, and facilitate a smooth year-end and reporting process.

Partner with the Workday implementation team to ensure accounting processes, reporting, and system configuration appropriately support the organization's financial reporting objectives.

Support the Controller and CFO on special projects, strategic initiatives, and other high-impact accounting matters as they arise.

We are searching for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys being the person others turn to when an accounting question gets complicated. This is a role where you'll be given meaningful ownership while working closely with highly experienced accounting and finance leaders. You'll gain exposure to acquisitions, complex transactions, technical accounting research, financial reporting, and the broader business - giving you the opportunity to continue expanding both your technical expertise and leadership capabilities. For someone who wants to become exceptionally well-rounded in accounting and develop a deeper understanding of how accounting decisions connect to the business, this is a tremendous opportunity to build that foundation while making a meaningful impact within one of Nebraska's most respected organizations.
