Job description
Trio is Growing — From 40,000 to 130,000 Sq Ft — and We Want You to Help Build What's Next
Trio Manufacturing is expanding in a big way, and we're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who wants more than just a job — who wants to leave their fingerprint on the processes, the team, and the future of aerospace and defense manufacturing.
This isn't stepping into a finished system. This is a rare seat at the table while the system is still being built. As we triple our footprint, you'll have the chance to shape how we machine, how we mentor, and how we deliver mission-critical components for the defense industry — work that matters, on a floor you'll help define.
What You'll Own:
Hands-on leadership — solving problems shoulder-to-shoulder with machinists on the floor, not just directing from a desk
Full ownership of manufacturing projects from concept through production
Development of processes for aerospace components where precision and safety aren't optional
A culture of continuous improvement — building it, not just following it
Direct collaboration with customers, vendors, and leadership, with real influence on decisions
Creation of the work instructions, training materials, and documentation that will guide this facility for years to come
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience)
15+ years in manufacturing engineering, aerospace experience strongly preferred
15+ years of hands-on CNC experience required
A proven track record of building and optimizing manufacturing processes, not just maintaining them
Real shop-floor troubleshooting skills and a willingness to get hands-on
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
Natural leadership instincts — someone who mentors, not just manages
Bonus Points:
Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP standards
Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Background in machining, welding, fabrication, or assembly within aerospace manufacturing
Who Thrives Here:
A team player who listens as well as they lead
Someone who makes fast, sound decisions under pressure
A communicator who can talk shop with machinists and strategy with executives in the same conversation
Someone who wants ownership, not just a task list
