These individuals understand the working principles and how all systems and components work on a boat. They use diagnostic equipment to test and repair boat engines, hulls, propellers, rigging, and navigational equipment. Senior Technicians are responsible for providing expert technical knowledge and experience and helping to train other Teammates.n n Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesn · Work closely with Service Manager to provide accurate and detailed work ordersn · Conduct thorough assessment prior to starting a job including acknowledging the budgeted time and time frame for completion, proving the system and the element requiring service, sourcing parts if requiredn · Expert knowledge of marine systems including electrical, plumbing & water systemsn · Proven experience troubleshooting, repair, and install vessel systems and components including but not limited to electrical, electronics, HVAC, plumbing & water systems (fresh, salt, and waste), gas and diesel enginesn · Assign parts and purchases to the appropriate vessels/ticketsn · Excellent time management skills, customer service, attention to detail, and self-motivationn · Promote and encourage a safe working environmentn · Provide timely updates and takes initiative to exceed member satisfaction, even if it requires overcoming challengen · Must possess own toolsn · Significant experience with both gas and diesel engines preferredn · Serve as a mentor for technicians new to the field or SHM n · Availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlinesn n Safety and Environmental Responsibilitiesn · Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related trainingn · Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work arean · Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediatelyn n Technical and Physical Requirementsn · High school diploma or equivalent preferredn · Marine Technical school training preferredn · 10 years' + experience preferredn · ABYC Master Technician preferredn · Multiple certifications across engine brandsn · Ability to ascend and descend a laddern · Ability to work in confined spacesn · Ability to lift 50 poundsn · Basic boat handling skills preferrednn Any skills considered standard that a Senior Technician should possessnn n Minimum Soft Skills Qualificationsnn Eagerness to engage in a growing, fast paced, and industry-leading companyn Consistently treats others with dignity and respectn Genuinely serves others with humility and a positive attituden Frequently demonstrates a bias toward actionn Always communicates effectively and courteously with fellow teammates and membersn Continuously follows policies and procedures while seeking out new and better ways of accomplishing dutiesn Shows resolve and overcomes difficulties in a positive and productive mannern Gladly provides responsive, and high level of service to our teammates and membersn Eagerly puts forth the extra effort to accomplish dutiesn Adapts quickly and efficiently to changing priorities in order to meet teammate or member needsnn n Safe Harbor Marinas provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applications for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
