Job description
A leading consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer / Engineer to join its growing Atlanta team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and delivery of complex healthcare and mission-critical facilities , working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams on high-impact projects throughout the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities
Lead HVAC and mechanical systems design for complex healthcare facilities
Develop engineering calculations, equipment selections, system layouts, specifications, and construction documents
Perform quality reviews to ensure technical excellence and code compliance
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and healthcare clients throughout project delivery
Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field issue resolution
Mentor junior engineers and designers while providing technical leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
10+ years of mechanical design/engineering experience within the AEC industry
Extensive healthcare project experience, including hospitals and ambulatory care facilities
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, healthcare codes, and industry standards
Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and mechanical load calculation software
PE license preferred
