Senior Engineering Manager / Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: On-Site, Branchburg, NJ

Employment Type: Full-Time

A growing life sciences organization is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager / Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead engineering operations within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of critical production equipment while driving continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, operations, quality, and R&D functions.

This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on facility performance, equipment reliability, process optimization, and future expansion projects while working in an environment that supports products ultimately reaching patients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team while managing project priorities and departmental objectives.

Oversee equipment troubleshooting, root cause investigations, preventive maintenance, calibrations, qualifications, and validation activities.

Drive capital projects involving facility upgrades, equipment improvements, and capacity expansion initiatives.

Partner closely with Operations, Quality, and R&D teams to support production goals and resolve technical challenges.

Ensure compliance with cGMP requirements, quality systems, and regulatory expectations while supporting audits and inspections.-

Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, safety, and operational excellence. -

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline).

10+ years of engineering experience within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

3-5+ years of leadership experience managing technical or engineering teams.

Proven experience leading equipment qualification, process validation, change control, and capital improvement projects.

Strong knowledge of equipment reliability, operational excellence, and regulated manufacturing environments.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
