What You Will Do
Perform mechanical design, development, analysis and documentation of components and assemblies in accordance with system requirements.
Provide support to production and suppliers during product integration.
Interface with the broader organization to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges. This can include engineering managers, engineers, designers, and structural/thermal analysts, other disciplines, program management, suppliers, and external customers.
Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
Support and participate in reviews and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environment.
Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Qualifications
Experience designing and developing hardware, ranging from concept definition through detailed design and transition to production or product support.
Demonstrated experience in mechanical design, product development, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with CAD design tools and associated product data management tools.
Experience solving technically challenging problems within aggressive timelines.
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies, circuit card assemblies, structural components, equipment packaging and layout, and military defense systems.
CREO CAD system experience and PDM or similar product data management tools.
Previous experience with structural and/or thermal analysis using ANSYS, Flotherm and/or other analytical tools.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and ASME Y14.5.
Demonstrated hands‑on mechanical aptitude.
Prior defense industry experience, designing and solving problems for high reliability systems operating within harsh military environments.
Working knowledge of military and commercial design, materials, and process specifications.
Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware issues during prototyping, production and test.
Experience with EVMS or other professional exposure to similar budget tracking systems.
ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance or higher.
Advanced degree in mechanical engineering.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
