This is a remote position.

Role Summary

We are seeking aSenior Metrics Design & Reporting Specialist – Splunkto support a leading financial institution.In this remote,high-visibility role,you will be responsible for translating complex technical and risk data into clear,actionable metrics,dashboards,and reporting narratives.

You will work closely with leadership,engineering,risk,compliance,and audit teams to design metrics frameworks that drive informed decision-making,demonstrate controls assurance,and fulfill regulatory requirements within a highly regulated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Metrics Framework & Design:Architect,design,and implement end-to-end IT,security,and compliance metrics (e.g.,Code Metrics,Test Metrics,Controls Assurance,Risk Metrics) across enterprise systems.

Dashboard & Report Development:Build compelling,decision-enabling dashboards and reports inSplunk(alongside ELK,Tableau,or equivalent enterprise visualization tools) that turn complex datasets into clear narratives.

Data Engineering & Pipeline Orchestration:Write clean,maintainable code usingSPL, Python, Scala, Java,or equivalent.Build and manage automated data pipelines using workflow orchestration tools (e.g.,Apache Airflow,Prefect).

Data Modeling & Query Optimization:Query,model,and optimize relational databases and NoSQL data stores to extract meaningful analytics from large,multi-faceted data sets.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:Translate intricate technical and risk concepts into executive-ready insights for leadership,non-technical stakeholders,audit,and compliance teams.

Controls & Risk Alignment:Map technical controls and data insights directly to industry compliance frameworks (e.g.,NIST CSF 2.0,OSFI B-13,CIS Controls,CSA) to support risk management and regulatory examinations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

Core Technical Experience

Splunk Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL), dashboard creation, reporting, and data visualization.

Programming & Automation: Strong hands-on coding proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, or SPL, with an emphasis on writing maintainable, production-grade code.

Visualization & Reporting: Hands-on experience with enterprise visualization tools (Splunk, ELK Stack, Tableau, or similar).

Data Architecture: Solid foundation in relational database design, complex SQL querying, data modeling, and hands-on experience with NoSQL data stores.

Orchestration & Data Pipelines: Familiarity with workflow orchestration platforms like Apache Airflow, Prefect, or equivalent pipeline tools.

Soft Skills & Problem Solving

Ability to analyze ambiguous, multi-faceted technical challenges and decompose them into structured, actionable solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of presenting to non-technical executive stakeholders.

Preferred / "Nice to Have" Qualifications

Financial Services / Regulated Industry Experience: Prior experience working in large enterprise environments, specifically within Banking, Financial Services, or Regulated Sectors.

Risk & Compliance Frameworks: Hands-on knowledge of control frameworks such as NIST CSF 2.0, OSFI B-13, CIS Controls, or CSA, and experience translating framework requirements into technical, measurable metrics.

Audit & Regulatory Exposure: Familiarity with internal audit processes, external regulatory examinations, and compliance assessments.

Cloud & Security Knowledge: Understanding of cloud security, scalability, and cost optimization principles.

Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience/industry certifications demonstrating domain mastery.
