About The Role
Design and develop neutral beam injection systems, including ion sources, beam optics, vacuum system and beam dumps
Design high‑voltage components (100 kV–1 MV class systems)
Develop thermal management solutions for high‑power‑density components
Collaborate with physicists to integrate beam line components in the NB injector
Prototyping, testing, and commissioning of beamline systems
About You
Bachelor’s degree in design or mechanical engineering or related field
Experience with one or more of the following: Charged particle beam systems
Plasma sources (especially ion sources)
High‑voltage engineering
Solid Works or Catia
Simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, or similar
5‑10 years professional experience in an engineering role (design, analysis, test or manufacturing)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with neutral beam injection systems or fusion devices
Knowledge of RF ion sources or negative ion generation, high power flux dumps, magnetic confinement systems (tokamaks, stellarators)
Hands‑on experience with high‑power test systems and high‑voltage systems
Compensation for this position may include a base salary in the range of $135,000 – $160,000, with additional elements such as equity participation and performance‑based rewards.
