Monitor, review and optimize mechanical engineering work performed by external engineering partners
Critically assess designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
Coordinate and review mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, fire detection & fire fighting systems, lifting equipment and auxiliary systems
Safeguard technical consistency, applicable standards, client requirements and legal regulations
Take technical ownership of mechanical engineering activities within your project scope
Align closely with electrical and automation engineers to ensure correct interface integration
Act as the technical point of contact for project teams, partners, suppliers and subcontractors
Support tender activities for offshore substations by analysing specifications, contracts and scope descriptions
Identify technical risks, ambiguities and potential red flags in tender dossiers
Support construction and commissioning by defining procedures and reviewing operational and maintenance manuals
Your magic skills
Holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical education
Has extensive experience as a mechanical engineer in offshore wind, shipbuilding, heavy industry or similarly complex project environments
Possesses in-depth knowledge of multiple mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, fire systems, lifting equipment, etc.)
Has experience supervising and coordinating external engineering firms or partners
Thinks critically, works in a structured manner and challenges technical decisions when needed
Communicates fluently in English; knowledge of Dutch, French or German is an asset
Is primarily based in Arendonk and regularly present on site in Hoboken or the Netherlands (Vlissingen)
