FourWays Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Senior Palo Alto Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise cybersecurity solutions for a major client engagement. This role is ideal for a hands‑on security professional with deep expertise in Palo Alto Networks technologies, cloud security, and customer‑facing consulting environments who can deliver immediate value while mentoring junior team members.
Detailed Job Description
As a Senior Palo Alto Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert for Palo Alto Networks security technologies, helping clients strengthen their cybersecurity posture across on‑premises and cloud environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and optimizing advanced security solutions, including Prisma Access, Prisma Cloud, and broader Palo Alto security platforms. Working closely with customers, architects, and security teams, you will provide technical leadership, solution recommendations, and implementation guidance for complex security initiatives. The role requires strong consulting skills, practical cybersecurity experience, and hands‑on expertise across AWS, Azure, and enterprise security architectures. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high‑impact security projects while influencing best practices and mentoring the next generation of security engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support enterprise security solutions using Palo Alto Networks technologies.
Lead the deployment and optimization of Prisma Access and Prisma Cloud environments.
Assess, design, and implement security architectures across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Configure and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, security policies, VPNs, and threat prevention technologies.
Collaborate directly with customers to understand business requirements and deliver effective security solutions.
Provide technical consulting, architecture recommendations, and cybersecurity best practices.
Support cloud security initiatives within AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.
Conduct security assessments, implementation reviews, and solution validation activities.
Troubleshoot complex security and network‑related issues and perform root cause analysis.
Develop technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
Mentor and guide junior engineers while promoting security best practices across teams.
Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Current Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification.
Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Networks security technologies.
Minimum 8 years of Information Security and Cybersecurity experience.
Strong experience with Prisma Access and Prisma Cloud.
Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud platforms and security services.
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments and security controls.
Proven experience implementing cybersecurity solutions in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, Zero Trust architectures, and threat prevention technologies.
Experience working in client‑facing, consulting, or professional services environments.
Ability to lead technical engagements and mentor junior engineers.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Palo Alto Cortex products and security operations platforms.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security experience.
Experience with cloud‑native security frameworks and compliance standards.
Knowledge of DevSecOps, infrastructure‑as‑code, and cloud automation practices.
Additional cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or GIAC.
Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise security transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with security monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence platforms.
