Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Partner Accountant to join a global professional services organization. This role supports partnership accounting and partner finance activities across the US and UK, with regular interaction with senior-level stakeholders and cross-functional finance teams.
The position is responsible for partner account reconciliations, capital management, profit distributions, partner payments, and related accounting activities. The ideal candidate has strong professional services or partnership accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Manage partner accounting activities, including payment calculations, processing, and individual financial statements.
Calculate and maintain partner capital balances, including annual capital requirements, loan activity, and capital repayments.
Support cash flow and budgeting activities related to partner compensation and distributions.
Prepare partner-related journal entries and reconcile individual accounts to underlying cash and accrual balances.
Perform multi-currency account reconciliations across transaction, unit, and firm currencies.
Review and analyze partner accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Meet with incoming and departing partners to review and explain financial information.
Support consistent accounting processes across US and international partner populations.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.
Assist with financial audits and respond to accounting-related questions.
Partner with Tax, Payroll, Financial Accounting, Financial Controls, and Cash Operations teams as needed.
Provide coverage and support to other members of the partnership accounting team during periods of high volume or absence.
Required Experience:
5+ years of relevant partnership accounting experience, preferably within a professional services organization, accounting practice, or partnership environment.
Experience performing most or all of the partnership accounting responsibilities listed above.
Partnership accounting experience within a law firm is required
Accounting qualification or progress toward an accounting qualification is preferred but not required.
Experience working with multi-currency accounting is preferred.
